Validation arrives courtesy of Costco

I have fought the Titleist machine for seven years now. I have to admit that I have reconsidered my stance from time to time, especially after being subjected to amazed looks and ridicule from walk in customers looking for their precious PRO V1 balls. I have had to listen to pissed off customers saying “what kind of a pro shop doesn’t carry Titleist”.  I always thought to myself that a good answer would be “one that cares about its customers,” but why feed their fire. I usually try to explain to them that we feel the Pro V1 ball is terribly overrated and doesn’t represent a good value for our customers. In some cases, if the customer is a reasonable person and wants to be informed, we have had success in getting them to try something new and many have made the switch. The Callaway Chrome Soft vaulted to the second highest selling ball on the market through efforts like ours here, I am sure.

But thankfully someone has finally stood up to the machine. I don’t know if any of you have been following the MY Golf Spy report and its subsequent shake up.

If you haven’t already seen it, I will post the full link here:

In essence, they found a ball at Costco that costs way less than half the cost of their precious Pro V1 balls and simply outperforms it. After the story came out it was impossible to get the Kirkland ball and supplies remain limited.  We do not sell the Kirkland ball, as it is a Costco item and have no skin in this game. But we have many excellent alternatives to choose from that can help your game.

Make no mistake, Titleist has cornered the market in golf balls used by pro tour players with great success. I am going to go ahead and make a stunning confession here. Pro Tour players don’t buy their golf balls at Fore Some Golf Shop…… very often..LOL.

We carry balls that make sense for the average Joe. Balls that suit their game and cost a whole lot less than the Titleist balls that they have been tricked into coveting for years. Come in give us a few details about how your hitting them and we can show you alternatives that will let you leave with a little change in your pocket and maybe even a lower score on your next card!!!

Remember this,

BAD LIES MATTER!
